Over the years, it has been observed that people have not taken a healthy diet, which increases the rate of many diseases among them. Being a medical student, our responsibility is to be aware of them. Anemia is one major disease, is a deficiency of RBCs and protein (hemoglobin), low blood volume causes many difficulties for the whole body to perform normal vital functions and leads to lifethreatening conditions. But, now unfortunately, it’s become a worldwide health problem, associated with poor health condition with high prevalence in developing countries. There are many types of anemia according to its causes, but Iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) is the most common type of anemia, which women in general are at greater risk of iron deficiency anemia. As the name implies, iron deficiency anemia is due to insufficient iron in our body or our daily dietary intake. As iron is a major constituent of hemoglobin, without enough iron, your body can’t produce enough hemoglobin in red blood cells causes the circulating RBCs smaller than the usual size and have decreased red color because of less hemoglobin that enables them to carry oxygen.
