IPU regional seminar on SDGs to begin in Islamabad

Spokesman Report

Islamabad: The ‘Third Inter-Parliamentary Union Regional Seminar on Achieving Sustainable Development Goals for Parliaments of Asia-Pacific’ is beginning in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The National Assembly is hosting the two-day seminar. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend its inaugural session.

The event is being held in the backdrop of the devastating rains, floods and landslides that have impacted more than thirty three million people in different parts of the country.

The seminar aims to highlight the vulnerabilities of developing countries, especially in the Asia-Pacific region, to the ever-intensifying impacts of global climate change.
