Efforts of FPCCI FBR announces introduction of National Single WindowIslamabad : Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo, President FPCCI, has expressed his satisfaction on his efforts being fruitful in getting FBR to establish National Single Window for the convenience of Pakistani importers and exporters. The National Single Window system will help traders to get rid of licenses, permits, and dozens of other documents – as well as reduce online registration time and fees.

Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo said that FPCCI and business community showed perseverance in their struggle to achieve National Single Window by FBR. He was speaking to the webinar jointly organized by Central Standing Committee on Customs, FPCCI and FBR to create awareness on National Single Window.

The seminar was also graced by Khawaja Shahzeb Akram, SVP FPCCI; Mian Anjum Nisar, Former President FPCCI; Hanif Lakhani, VP FPCCI; Qurban Ali, Chairman Capital Office FPCCI; Mirza Abdul Rehman, Coordinator Capital Office FPCCI; Muhammad Ali Mian, Coordinator Lahore Office FPCCI; and Shabbir Mansha Churra, Chairman Central Standing Committee on Customs, FPCCI.

Muhammad Imran Khan Mohmand – Project Director, Pakistan Single Window Project, FBR –gave a detailed presentation on subscription module and answered the questions of the participants. He termed the system as revolutionary and promised maximum facilitation to the trade community of Pakistan.

Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo maintained that the real test of the national single window lies in its performance to be judged on the basis of actual reduction in costs and time-elapsed for importers and exporters.

FBR representatives expressed their hope that the federal cabinet would approve the draft of National Single Window system in the upcoming week. FBR is planning to implement the new system in August/September 2021.

National Single Window system will require only NIC Number and Mobile Phone Number from importers and exporters to register and the registration will be complete within 24 hours. Traders would not have to go to various authorities for resolution of their issues; but, various departments would be resolving their issues digitally in a timely manner.

Concluding the seminar, Mr. Shabbir Mansha Churra thanked FBR and the audience for their active participation and hoped that future interactive sessions organized by Central Standing Committee on Customs, FPCCI will also receive similar warm welcome and response from authorities and businessmen alike.

FPCCI is eagerly looking forward to effective and flawless implementation of National Single Window system and anticipating its success.
