PM orders govt members to ensure attendance in PAC sessions
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday directed the formulation of an effective media communication strategy to highlight various government initiatives for the welfare of the people. The prime minister stated this in a meeting with Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, the PM Office said. Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Information Hassan Khawar and Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information Barrister Saif Ali also attended the meeting.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the government members to ensure their attendance in the sessions of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The government members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) called on PM Imran Khan. The government members apprised the premier that PAC used to review only audit papers, whereas, the corruption cases were not concluded due to the weaknesses of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
PM Imran Khan said that PAC is the forum to protect the taxes paid by the nationals. He directed that the government members should attend the PAC sessions with preparations to expose the irregularities of the past governments. He was of the view that no effective outcomes were witnessed after corrupt practices were spotted before the PAC. The opposition attempted to hide their irregularities in their tenures.
PM Khan said that the government members should play a more active role and directed them to ensure their attendance in the PAC sessions. “All of you are senior politicians and we expect from you to highlight the cases related to corruption. You should also uncover the corruption of the current government. No tolerance should be shown to those who are supporting corruption.”
He asked the PAC members to directly inform the persons who are trying to hide their corrupt practices. PM Imran Khan said that the government will not step back from its policy to eliminate corruption.
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, on Thursday decided to address the youth of the country. According to details, PM held a meeting with the in charge Kamyab Jawan Program Usman Dar. It was decided in the meeting that the sports program under the youth empowerment initiative will be started from December 6. The talent hunt will include 12 games such as cricket, hockey etc.
For the talent hunt, youth all across the country will be able to partake in the competitions. The security of the youth will be catered by the rangers which have already been divided into 25 teams across Pakistan. Moreover, PM ordered to include several reserved seats for hockey players in universities meanwhile the competitions will take place this year around December 6. The launching ceremony will be held in Jinnah Stadium Islamabad. The preparations for the launching ceremony have been started. It is pertinent to mention here that Usman Dar said through this initiative, Pakistani youth will be able to inculcate their talent for sports; meanwhile, the will exposure at international level will be ensured through national competitions.
