The friendship between China and Pakistan is built on a strong foundation, with the most significant example being the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This project is not only stabilizing Pakistan’s economy but also laying the foundation for a new era of development and prosperity throughout the region. However, some foreign powers and terrorist organizations like the BLA, TTP, and other extremist groups are attempting to harm CPEC. These groups are being used through hybrid warfare, cyber-attacks, and digital propaganda to intervene in Pakistan’s internal affairs.
What Measures Do Pakistan and China Need to Take?
Pakistan and China need to adopt a joint strategy using modern technology to combat terrorism. Currently, systems such as artificial intelligence (AI), cyber defense, advanced drones, and state-of-the-art digital surveillance can play a crucial role. If China shares its advanced technology more extensively with Pakistan, not only will CPEC’s security be strengthened, but stability will also be enhanced throughout the region.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity
AI-Based Facial Recognition Systems: Advanced Chinese facial recognition systems like Sense Time and Megvii can be installed in Pakistan to identify terrorists.
Cybersecurity Shields: Chinese institutions like Huawei and 360 Security can set up AI-based Cyber Defense Systems in Pakistan to prevent the propaganda of groups like BLA, TTP, and others on social media.
Social Media Algorithm Control: China can introduce algorithms on platforms like TikTok and other social media to block terrorist networks, propaganda, and fake news.
- Advanced Drones and Security Technology
CH-5 and WJ-700 Drones: High-end drones such as CH-5 and WJ-700 from China can be provided to Pakistan, enabling attacks on terrorist hideouts from long distances.
JDAM Precision Guided Bombs: Modern JDAM bomb systems, which China possesses, can be provided to Pakistan for effective strikes on terrorist locations.
Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS): Chinese institutions like NORINCO and CETC can provide advanced radar and electronic warfare systems like the JY-27A and DWL002, which will help jam terrorist communications.

Major projects like Reko Diq, Gwadar Port, and others in Balochistan are progressing, but terrorist organizations are plotting against them. The Baloch people must realize that the path to development guarantees prosperity. China and Pakistan should offer more scholarships, technical education, and employment opportunities for the welfare of the Baloch people, preventing the youth from turning to terrorism.
- Wakhan Corridor: A Critical Strategic Matter
The Wakhan Corridor serves as a buffer zone that could be a route for militants to enter Pakistan, China, and Central Asia. The Afghan Taliban has put Pakistan in an economic crisis by granting trade access to India. In contrast, Pakistan should strengthen its strategic position in Wakhan and work with China to establish a strategic monitoring base to prevent terrorist infiltration.

– HQ-9B and HQ-22 Air Defense Systems (against terrorist drone attacks)
– VT-4 Main Battle Tank (for use in Balochistan and Waziristan’s mountainous areas)
