Cotton farmers of Rajanpur visited Islamia UniversityBahawalpur :A team of field workers and cotton growers from Rajanpur visited the cotton field of Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chairman of the department Plant Breeding Genetics along with Abdul Rehman Ph.D. Scholar and Dr. Humayun Raza welcomed and gave a briefing about the new cotton genotype IUB-4 and IUB-21 especially about whitefly management. Team leader Naveed Jameel and others appreciated the performance of new cotton varieties especially management of whitefly without application of chemicals. Later, the team called on Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob Vice-Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and requested the Vice-Chancellor for production of quality seed of varieties developed by IUB. Vice-Chancellor assured them university will provide quality seed of approved Varieties of IUB in the coming year. Vice-Chancellor also assured to conduct demonstration trail in Rajanpur next year.
