Srinagar :In a statement issued from central information office, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, the chief spokesman of JKLF extended deep grief and sorrow over the death of cancer ailing wife of senior APHC/TeHK leader Ayaz Akbar, who far the last few years is illegally languishing in Delhi, Tihar Jail. He paid salutations to the departed soul for her brave, high morale and steadfastness approach during the tough times she faced.

According to the party spokesman the central leaders of JKLF in Srinagar offered her nimaz-e-jinaza, and while consoling the bereaved children prayed for the magfirah and grant of highest place in Jannah of their mother. They also prayed for the early release of their father Ayaz Akbar from jail.

While condemning the inhuman and undemocratic attitude of the government of India, the JKLF spokesman said that the jailed pro-freedom political leaders are deprived of their basic human rights. The rejection of bail as well as an appeal for payroll by Ayaz Akbar is an eye opening example for the human rights defenders to pursue as it is the right of any jailed person to be present at the departing time of his/her close blood relative that too of a dying spouse.

The spokesman also expressed dismay over the biased approach of Indian judiciary that most of the time, especially in Kashmiri pro-freedom political prisoner’s cases, act on the government directions. While condemning the continued and illegal arrest JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, district president Gulzar Ahmed Pahalwan, lifer senior leader Nazir Ahmed Sheikh and senior leader Zahoor Ahmed Butt and thousands others, he demanded their immediate and unconditional release.

The spokesman informed that the party senior central leaders in Srinagar paid visit to the residences of Mo’azzin of historic Srinagar Jamia Masjid Moulvi Muhammad Yasin Shah and Awami Action Committee senior leader Muhammad Shafi Khan who breathed their last yesterday. The party leaders while extending their condolences to the bereaved families prayed for the departed souls. Moulvi Muhammad Yasin Shah had served the Jamia Masjid for decades and he will be remembered for his beautiful voice he used to exhibit especially while offering the five time Azan and Na’at to praise Hazrat Muhammad SA (PBUH) on special occasions, the spokesman added.
