Bahawalpur : The department of Botany the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has taken possession of 5 acres of experimental area in Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus. The chairman department of Botany Prof Dr. Muhammad Iqbal and all faculty members thanked the Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob for giving opportunity that may play a significant role to enhance the quality of research in the field of Botany. On this occasion, the Chairman and all faculty members planted tree saplings as an Inaugural token. The faculty of Botany Department is determined to develop this research area in the form of Botanical Garden that may serve as a source of plant identifications and Centre of Ex-Situ conservation having seed bank, native and exotic live plants and herbarium specimen collections.
