Sirohey lauded the COMSTECH program for Africa

ISLAMABAD: Ahmed Ali Sirohey, the Head of the Mission of High Commission of Pakistan in Niger met with Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary Coordinator-General of COMSTECH.

The meeting was held at COMSTECH Secretariat, in Islamabad. The agenda of the meeting was to deliberate upon the recently organized eye camps in Niger as well as the Gambia.

Likewise, the two dignitaries also further extrapolated on neuroscience activities for Niger. Ambassador Sirohey lauded the COMSTECH program for Africa.

The program for Africa entails research grants for young scientists, a research fellowships program, a technicians training program, technical cooperation, eye camps, along with training in ophthalmology.

COMSTECH had earlier arranged two eye camps in The Gambia and Niger in partnership with LRBT and IsDB. These camps conducted more than 500 cataract surgeries, maintained medical equipment, and organized training workshops which were highly admired by the governments of both states.

Aside from that, the Ambassador also discussed the sustainability as well as expansion of the existing enterprises of the government of Pakistan in Niger. The two officials also discussed the upsurge of such initiatives by Pakistan in the African continent.

These initiatives have been introduced with the objective of further enhancing the mutually advantageous diplomatic presence of Pakistan with the countries of the African continent
