Islamabad:  Ahmed Faraz was an epoch-making poet and intellectual whose poetry influenced all sections of the society in every era. It is a miracle of Faraz’s art and personality that we could not forget him even today. These views were expressed by eminent poet and intellectual Haleem Qureshi while presiding over the Mushaira of Kohsar Literary Forum organized in the memory of Ahmed Faraz on his fifteenth death anniversary in Awan e Quaid in association with Nazriya Pakistan Council (Trust).

He further said that Faraz always represented the downtrodden section of the society. The Special guest Dr Maqsood Jafari said that Faraz was a great poet as well as a courageous person who stood firm in front of false forces.

Dr. Nisar Turabi said that Faraz always raised his voice for the rights of the common man through writing and speech. The guest of honor, poet Javed Ahmed, the voice of Kashmiris, said that Faraz’s resistance poetry has emerged as a voice of every era today.

Muhammad Irfan Khan, patron of the forum, said that while Faraz interpreted the new generation with his romantic poetry, he enriched literature with resistance poetry.

Forum founder and president Professor Irfan Jameel said that Faraz made a beautiful history of Urdu literature with his impressive art and personality.

At the beginning of the event, representing Nazriya Pakistan Council, Director Programs Hameed Qaiser said that this beautiful platform of the Council is the vision of prominent journalist and intellectual Zahid Malik that today we are honoring him on the fifteenth anniversary of world famous poet Ahmed Faraz.

Remembering I welcome you all on behalf of Council Chairman Mian Muhammad Javed, Executive Secretary Gohar Zahid Malik and myself.

Forum Chairman Ali Ahmed Qamar gathered applause by presenting a poem written on Ahmed Faraz.

Following Poet and writers paid tribute to Faraz through their poems which include
Haleem Qureshi, Dr. Maqsood Jafri, Dr. Nisar Tarabi, Javed Ahmad, Dr. Ashfaq Nasir, Dr. Farzana Farah, Ali Ahmad Qamar, Nisar Nazish, Nizam. Uddin Nazim, Wafa Chishti, Professor Syed Zahid Hussain, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Ahmad Zahoor, Akram Al Wari, Nusrat Yab Nusrat, Safdar Hussain Wamiq, Mohsin Shaikh, Dr. Salahuddin Saleh, Muti Ahmed Mujtabi, Dr. Faisal Shahzad and Waqas Aziz.
