Islamabad, M/s Coastal Converters Pvt. Ltd. (the “Applicant”), a manufacturer of Bobbins and Cops (PCT No. 4822) has approached National Tariff Commission (the “Commission”) for reduction of custom duty on raw materials i.e. Parchment Paper (PCT. No. 4806.1000) and Paper Board/Core Board over 400gsm (PCT No. 4805.9390) for manufacturing of Bobbins and Cops.

The Commission has initiated an inquiry and would welcome views, suggestions and proposals from all parties having an interest in the business relating to or associated with the imports, manufacturing and marketing of Bobbins and Cops. Views/ suggestions may be sent within fifteen days of publication of this press release in newspapers, to the Secretary, National Tariff Commission, 4th Floor, State Life Building No. 5, Blue Area, Islamabad.

A virtual public hearing on the issue is scheduled to be held on March 09, 2021 at 11.00 a.m. at the National Tariff Commission Islamabad.

All parties having an interest in the business relating to or associated with the imports, manufacturing, marketing and use of Parchment Paper, Paper Board/Core Board and/or Bobbins and Cops are hereby advised to get themselves registered with NTC at [email protected] or [email protected] latest by March 04, 2021 for participation in the public hearing by providing names of the participants with their email, telephone numbers (Cell/LL) and fax numbers. For any further inquiry please contact Deputy Director Investigation-II at 051-9204118. All interested parties may submit their comments and suggestions in writing. The comments and suggestions may be supported with requisite, information and documentary evidence(s), which must be brought to the public hearing. The views not supported with reliable documentary evidence(s) shall not be considered.
