Ijaz Ahmad Shah participated in walk for Mass Awareness Campaign against Drug AbuseIslamabad- Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah participated in walk for Mass Awareness Campaign against Drug Abuse on 24th February 2021.

The Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah said that drug abuse is a country wide problem and we need to work together to completely eliminate it from our society. While talking to media during the walk, he said that drugs are spreading like an epidemic that poses a serious threat to our youth’s future. He said that the purpose behind this walk is to create mass awareness about how dangerous drugs are and about the fact that each one of us needs to play his role in elimination of this menace from our country.
The Federal Minister said that its unfortunate to see that students of college and universities are falling victim to this menace, he emphasized on the fact that we will do our best efforts to save our youth from evil of drug abuse and secure its future. Ijaz Ahmad Shah said that primary objective of this walk is to sensitize the masses regarding drug abuse and the problems that it causes.
The participants of the walk held banners that said say no to drugs and yes to life, giving the message that drugs are a serious threat to human life.
The Minsitry of Narcotics Control and Anti Narcotics Force are working on drug elimination by working on three tier policy that includes drug demand reduction, drug supply reduction and International Cooperation to combat the drug abuse and smuggling.
Along with the Federal Minister for Narcotics Control, Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah, DG ANF Major General Arif Malik, senior officials of Ministry of Narcotics Control and Anti Narcotics Force also participated in the walk. Other participants included students from different schools, colleges and universities, representatives from Pakistan Boys Scouts Association, Pakistan Girls Guide Association, Civil Society, UNODC and various Non-governmental organisations. The walk started from D-Chowk and ended infront of the Parliament House. The participants of the walk were given pamphlets with information on drug awareness campaign.
