Minister Narcotics addressed a conference in Karachi.Karachi- Federal Minister for Narcotics Control addressed a conference on Maritime Coordination sponsored by European Union to combat the menace of drugs. The Federal Minister appreciated the efforts of all Law enforcement agencies who have been working on frontline to eradicate drugs. “The sea route is one of the most challenging areas to run operations” the Minister said. Ijaz Ahmad Shah said that close coordination between the agencies involved is key to success. Under the leadership of Anti Narcotics Force and support of Maritime Security Agency, Pakistan Coast Guards and Pakistan Customs, we can successfully work on one front to eradicate the menace of drugs from our society, he said. The role of intelligence Information and timely coordination between all stakeholders will help in successful execution of the plans. The federal Minister said.

Federal Minister for Narcotics Control said that Makran coastal line is challenging area to deal with and all agencies must work together to eliminate the smuggling of drugs from the said area.
He insisted on the fact that drug dealers and suppliers should be punished and lesson should be taught to them. The Minister said that we will continue to fight against drugs until we can declare ourselves a completely drug free society.

The Federal Minister for Narcotics Control, Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah also visited Regional Directorate, Karachi and Rehabilitation Centre. During his visit to Rehabilitation Centre, he said that more rehabilitation centres will be built across country and he also said facilities will be improved for the betterment of drug victims. He also insisted on the need of professional training of these people, furthermore, he said that there must be a regular follow up of these people until they fully resume routine.
Afterwards, he was given detailed briefing on performance of Regional Directorate ANF. The Federal Minister appreciated the efforts and role of Anti Narcotics Force in combating drugs.
He said that we will give full support to facilitate the directorate in fighting drugs.
