On the eve of 37th martyrdom anniversary of Baba-e-Quam Muhammad Maqbool Butt and 29th martyrdom anniversary of martyrs of Chakothi, JKLF is going to attribute the month of February as “The Month of Maqbool and Release Yasin Malik Campaign” where in protest rallies, seminars and other programs will be undertaken in and outside the State of Jammu Kashmir while as complete strike will be observed in Jammu, Kashmir on 9 and 11 February, the martyrdom days of Shaheed M. Afzal Guroo and M. Maqbool Butt respectively. This was stated by Khawaja Saifudin, the head of JKLF central convening committee.
While appealing people to observe complete strike on the martyrdom days of these martyrs, Khawaja Saifudin directed the party leaders and members in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit Baltistan (GB), important cities of Pakistan and overseas to organize protest rallies, seminars and other relevant programs on 11th February at every level and reiterate our demand to India of handing over of mortal remains of both the martyrs who after illegal execution were buried in the premises of Tihar Jail, New Delhi.
Khawaja Saifudin paid rich tributes to Maqbool Butt, and said that he is our national pride and that his services will be remembered for all times to come. While talking to party leaders at JKLF central information office he said that India never thought that his execution would give birth to thousands of Maqbools to tread his path of freedom. He said that India repeated it again on 9th February, 2013 by executing M. Afzal Guroo in the same notorious and infamous Tihar Jail.
During the month-long programs in different parts of the world, besides paying homage to Baba-e-Quam, the party leaders will put light on the ideology he was following and the sacrifices he rendered during his struggle. The protest rallies will also demand the immediate and unconditional release of incarcerated JKLF Chairman M. Yasin Malik and others. The leaders during these protest marches will also put light on the proposed Pakistani plan to annex GB, he added. Khawaja Saifudin, during the discussion paid tributes to Prof. M. Ashraf Qureshi on his death anniversary for the services he rendered during the freedom struggle.
According to the party spokesman, Khawaja Saifudin, the head of JKLF central convening committee asked his party members not to fall prey to the disinformation campaign spread over by certain quarters who are hell bent upon to sabotage the so for successful ongoing dialogue process undertaken by party to wash away the reservations of those party members who opposed the 18th November party decisions.
He expressed his grief and sorrow to JKLF leader Sheikh Khalid on the death of his younger brother Sheikh Tulal in Srinagar and prayed for his highest place in Jannah.
