Air University holds 13th Convocation, 1,585 Graduates step into the future

ISLAMABAD — Air University (AU) Islamabad marked a momentous milestone as it held its 13th Convocation at the main auditorium of its main campus. The ceremony was graced by Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, and Acting Chairman, Higher Education Commission (HEC), who attended as the chief guest. A total of 1,585 graduates were conferred degrees, including 42 PhD scholars, 42 Gold Medalists, and 26 Silver Medalists, making it a proud day for students, parents, and faculty alike.

In his opening address, Air Marshal Abdul Moeed Khan, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) (Retd.), Vice Chancellor, Air University, congratulated the graduates on their remarkable academic achievements. He highlighted the university’s steady rise in international rankings, crediting its quality education, highly qualified faculty, and cutting-edge programs. He emphasized that AU has excelled in computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, producing graduates who are serving the nation, particularly in the defence sector. He also appreciated the contributions of Air University’s other faculties including engineering, basic and applied sciences, social sciences, strategic studies, and management sciences for nurturing competent and motivated graduates who are excelling nationally and internationally.

The Vice Chancellor proudly shared that Air University now operates six active campuses nationwide, including Islamabad, Multan, Kamra, Kharian, and Karachi. He announced a major new development that with the generous support of the Chief of Air Staff, AU is set to launch its new campus at Shorkot Cantt, with land and infrastructure already allocated by the Pakistan Air Force. He thanked the chief guest for honoring the event and expressed gratitude to parents for trusting Air University with their children’s futures.

The Vice Chancellor also reminded the graduates that they will forever remain an integral part of the Air University fraternity. He urged them to stay connected with the institution in any capacity professionally, academically, or as mentors to create meaningful impact through the knowledge and skills they have acquired. He encouraged them to uphold the values of Air University and make their alma mater and the country proud through their contributions to society.

Addressing the audience, Mr. Nadeem Mahbub extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and their families. He commended the Air University leadership, faculty, and management for providing a conducive, high-quality learning environment. Praising the university’s rapid expansion and growing national and international reputation, he remarked that its rising ranking reflects its academic excellence.

He added that the world is undergoing fast-paced technological transformation and appreciated Air University’s commitment to delivering high-tech, future-oriented degree programs that prepare students as leaders, innovators, and national assets. He lauded the university’s distinct standing in Pakistan, particularly in the fields of computing, Artificial Intelligence, and cybersecurity, and acknowledged its strong regulatory compliance and academic discipline.

Encouraging graduates to uphold a spirit of lifelong learning, he urged them to contribute to nation-building as responsible citizens. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s bright future, empowered by talented youth graduating from institutions like Air University. The chief guest also formally awarded PhD degrees, gold medals, and silver medals to outstanding achievers. The dignified ceremony concluded on a high note, celebrated with pride by graduates and their families.
