Russia and Uzbekistan are working together to develop the special professional education

The signing of the agreements took place following negotiations on the main issues of interaction between the two countries in the field of secondary vocational education, in which the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Inom Majidov and the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nazim Khusanov took part.

In particular, the parties discussed the convergence of approaches to the formation of professional standards and content of vocational education, the development of cooperation within the international movements WorldSkills International and Abilympics, the exchange of experience in the field of organizing early career guidance for schoolchildren.

“Together with specialists from the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, we are working to improve the quality of education in the Russian language and subjects in Russian. It is very important to pay attention to the training of specialists from among the citizens of Uzbekistan here, on the spot. We also discussed joint work on the development of the open source system and the training of specialists. Today, more than 2 thousand students – citizens of Uzbekistan study in colleges of the Russian Federation”, – Dmitry Glushko commented.

Dmitry Glushko informed that there are 3,642 organizations, operating in the secondary professional education sector in Russia, in which more than three million people study. Thanks to the complex work, which includes updating the material and technical base, introducing a demonstration exam and more, the number of applicants is growing. In 2020, their number increased by 150,000 compared to 2019. The secondary professional education institutions monitor the employment of graduates, and statistics show that more than half of the graduates (62.3%) who completed their studies in 2020 are already employed.

During the visit, the First Deputy Minister of Education also visited the Monocenter for the provision of services to the unemployed population in Tashkent.

The parties agreed to expand the work on passing the comprehensive examination by labor migrants in Uzbekistan.
