Spokesman Report
New York:As we know that the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir stands apart as the most cantankerous of conflicts, with the catastrophic possibility of unimaginable devastation that we witnessed in April-May 2025 when both India and Pakistan were at the brink of nuclear confrontation. Hence, the world powers need to reaffirm their commitment to the inalienable Kashmiri right of self-determination and help in resolving this long stand conflict to the satisfaction of all parties concerned.
In order to strategize the future plan of action, a group of well-wishers of the oppressed people of Indian occupied Kashmir convened a Zoom conference meeting to finalize assignments for different individuals, ensuring the success of our peaceful protest that will take place on September 27 in front of the United Nations headquarters in New York when Indian delegate will address the UN General Assembly around 1.00 p.m. Everyone who attended the zoom meeting shared one common desire: regardless of party affiliation, we must join hands and make every effort to ensure that our protest has a real impact. They all felt that what is needed is a united front among the members of Kashmiri American community that will inspire the people who will contact as well. Only a united leadership can unite the people.
Here are few decisions taken in today’s zoom conference.
Sardar Imtiaz Khan, Aftab Shah and Sardar Sajid Sawar, all from New Jersey will make contacts to fellow Kashmiri Americans and friends of Kashmir for the protest. A bus will be provided from New Jersey to those who would like to attend.
Likewise, Sardar Taj Khan and Raja Mukhtar will arrange buses from Brooklyn and Queens while Advocate Imtiaz Garalvi and Sardar Haleem Khan will be available for any help that is needed to persuade people to attend the rally.
Sardar Shoaib Irshad and Sardar Zarif Khan have accepted their responsibilities and will carry them out with sincerity. Dr. Imtiaz Khan and Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai will be available to make sure that there is at least one bus from Washington, D.C.
It was agreed upon that personal telephone calls will be made in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Washington metropolitan area besides the campaign on social media. The leadership of local community centers need to be contacted for the purpose.
