Islamabad : Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque has said that the joint efforts are needed to cope with second wave of Covid-19. He was chairing an emergency meeting on handling of Covid-19 challenges at committee room of Ministry of IT on Wednesday. Secretary IT Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui and Chairman PTA Maj Gen (Retd) Amir Azeem Bajwa were also present in the meeting. Representatives of cellular mobile operators were also present on the occasion. The Federal Minister said that Ministry of IT and Telecom was committed for promotion of information technology in the country. He said that role of IT is vital for tackling Covid-19 pandemic. He said that efficient use of IT can better help us regarding online education. Lauding the role of telecom industry, Syed Amin Ul Haque said that Ministry of IT will fully cooperate with telecom industry, adding that all the issues of cellular mobile operators will be resolved. The Federal Minister also asked cellular mobile operators to offer special bundle offer espacially for students.He also emphasized the need of joint efforts to fight Covid-19. CEO Universal Service Fund Haaris Mahmood Chaudhry and representatives from Special Communication Organisation (SCO), Frequency Allocation Board, PTCL and senior officers of Ministry also attended the meeting.
