LONDON / MANDI BAHAUDDIN :Prominent UK-based businessman and overseas Pakistani, Sajid Abbas Chadhar, has been honorably acquitted of a false murder case by Additional Sessions Judge Yaqub Rehman Irfani of the Mandi Bahauddin Sessions Court. The case, registered under FIR No. 714/22 at Civil Lines Police Station, has been declared baseless.
According to details, Sajid Abbas Chadhar had traveled from London to Mandi Bahauddin in June 2022 to attend a wedding. During his visit, local fraudsters and touts allegedly attempted to extort money by falsely implicating him in a fabricated murder case. Their aim was to humiliate him and extort funds under pressure.
A resident of the well-known town of (Ala)in Mandi Bahauddin, Sajid Abbas Chadhar chose to cooperate with law enforcement and joined the investigation. He visited the police station for three months, after which the local police found him innocent and discharged him from the case following their investigation.
After being cleared, Chadhar returned to London. However, the same individuals filed a private complaint to reopen the case, attempting once again to entrap him through legal manipulation.
Being a patriotic overseas Pakistani with deep respect for the laws of Pakistan and a strong bond with his homeland, Sajid Abbas Chadhar decided to return and face the charges head-on. He came back to Pakistan in late 2024 and appeared before the court. After six months of trial proceedings, the Additional District and Sessions Judge officially acquitted him with honor.
Chadhar was represented in court by renowned Mandi Bahauddin lawyer Advocate Muhammad Abbas Sivia.
Speaking to the media following the verdict, Sajid Abbas Chadhar expressed his gratitude to God for delivering him from three years of physical, mental, and financial suffering. He urged the authorities to conduct thorough investigations before registering cases against overseas Pakistanis to prevent others from enduring similar hardship due to false accusations.
