Peshawar :
The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has done something quite praiseworthy that has drawn interest not only among Pakistanis but across the world. Much to the surprise of many people – especially those who are followers of international relations – Governor Kundi invited the Consul Generals of the United States of America, Afghanistan, and Iran to hoist the Pakistan flag at the Governor House in Peshawar. It was held to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day.
It Is symbolic to have foreign diplomats from three countries that have had conflicts, to be precise hostile relations with Pakistan in the past sharing a moment standing under the green crescent flag. It represents a message of envoy and acceptance, showing Pakistan’s intention of coming together and living in harmony with neighbors and superpowers of the world. This action can be explained as an attempt to enhance relations with other countries and encourage further amicable relations in the region.
The U. S. Afghan, and Iranian Consul Generals’ attendance in such a significant ceremony is a sign of changes in the political and diplomacy in the area and even globally. Besides, it makes Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a representation of peace and a platform for different countries. It has been regarded as an example of progressive and non-partisan diplomacy by the governor Faisal Karim Kundi. In the long run, this can progress and disseminate a message of hope and togetherness, marking Pakistan’s position for the acceptance of diplomacy and non-violent resolution. This ceremony is not a simplistic nationalist performance, but an indication of the first movements towards world integration. The message is clear: the world is one, inter-connected and as such there is a need to act as one in the best interest of all nations of the world.
