Tashkent – The 2nd International Conference on “Uzbekistan Poverty Reduction Experience: Assessing and Investigating in Developing Countries” witnessed a significant speech delivered by Mr. Sajid Hussain Turi, the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development. Minister Turi discussed the successful Uzbekistan model for poverty reduction, its application in Pakistan, and the pressing need for mutual cooperation. The Minister also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mr. Bekhzod Musaev, Uzbekistan’s Minister for Employment and Poverty Reduction, to foster collaboration in employment creation, bilateral trade, and professional trainings.
In his captivating speech, Minister Turi acknowledged Uzbekistan’s commendable efforts in poverty reduction and its relevance to Pakistan’s context. He highlighted the Uzbekistan model’s core components, including comprehensive social protection programs, inclusive economic growth strategies, and targeted interventions that have uplifted marginalized communities. Minister Turi emphasized the importance of learning from Uzbekistan’s success story to address poverty-related challenges in Pakistan effectively.
The MoU focuses on employment creation, bilateral trade promotion, and professional trainings. This mutual commitment aims to harness the strengths and expertise of both nations, fostering economic growth, and reducing poverty.
