ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Olympic Association issued the affiliation Letter for the 4-year constitutional term (2022-26) to Pakistan Hockey Federation after the recent elections. As per the affiliation letter issued by POA, Brig. (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar President PHF, Syed Haider Hussain Secretary General PHF, ShahidParvezBhandara as Treasurer PHF will be part of the affiliated unit of POA for the term 2022-26.
According to the details, Secretary General of Pakistan Hockey Federation Haider Hussain met Secretary General of Pakistan Olympic Association Khalid Mahmood in his office. On this occasion, POA Secretary General Khalid Mahmood congratulated PHF Secretary General Haider Hussain on being elected as Secretary General PHF. Affiliation letter for the 4-year constitutional term (2022-26) of the officials elected in the Pakistan Hockey Federation elections was also presented by the Pakistan Olympic Association. As per the affiliation letter issued by POA, Brig. (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar President PHF, Syed Haider Hussain Secretary General PHF, ShahidParvezBhandara as Treasurer PHF will be part of the affiliated unit of POA. During the meeting of Secretary General PHF Haider Hussain with Secretary General POA Khalid Mahmood, there was a detailed discussion about international events. On this occasion, Secretary General POA Khalid Mahmood said that hockey is not only our national game but also the flagship of national sports. There are high expectations from our national sport of hockey and its newly elected officials.
Appreciating the services rendered by PHF Secretary General Haider Hussain in hockey, he said that he has rendered his services for hockey in the grassroots in the best way. After 25 years, formation of departmental teams in Karachi, re-formation of women’s hockey team. The participation of eleven hundred children in the summer camp for the first time in the country’s history brightened the future of Karachi hockey and gave Karachi hockey a place at the national level. It is hoped that with the same spirit as the PHF Secretary, he will play his role in the development and promotion of the national sport by using all his efforts. He further said that Pakistan Olympic Association will continue its full cooperation with PHF in this regard.
PHF Secretary General Haider Hussain thanked POA Secretary General and said that POA has always supported PHF for the promotion of the national sport hockey. He further said that according to the vision of PHF President Brigadier R. Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, he will use all his energies to raise the prestige of the national game. PHF Secretary General Haider Hussain also presented a commemorative souvenir to POA Secretary General Khalid Mehmood on behalf of PHF.
