Islamabad – Inspire Pakistan believes that a nation can only prosper if its roots are properly stemmed. Each and every individual needs to play their part in practicing non-violence and discouraging any such act of violence thus reporting it immediately to the concerned authorities. Psychological counselling is needed to balance the mindset and break the stereotypical male dominant culture. We stand against any form of violence and support the government in the efforts towards making the country a violence free country where justice is served and human rights protected.

The government has actively taken steps by formulating new laws, took initiatives for the amendments of existing laws, developed SOPs and referral mechanisms for the protection of women, children, minorities and transgenders however gaps still exist. During COVID 19, rise in domestic violence has been noticed, therefore the ministry of human rights upgraded its complaint and helpline registration system to take complaints through SMS and mobile apps 24/7 to provide support to the vulnerable women and children. 12 child protection committees established in ICT, moreover actions towards protection of rights of minorities including strengthening interfaith harmony and safeguarding places of worship etc through awareness workshops and consultation of referral mechanisms are institutionalized.

Despite phenomenal development, that is witnessed in recent decades, inequality still persists whether it be human rights violation, extreme poverty, devastation caused by armed conflict or barbaric criminal acts including rape, torture, sexual abuse and domestic violence etc.

The government needs to intensify the efforts for the zero violence to prevail in the country. Matters related to conflict, religious intolerance and injustice needs to be addressed through peaceful dialogue. Violence needs to be put to a halt and this can only be attained through enforcement of well-defined laws that needs constant supervision ensuring its implementation. The government needs to underpin non-violence to move towards equitable growth.
