Pakistan should launch a virtual version of its pavilion

Tariq Khattak

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) on Saturday lauded the management of the Pakistan pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2020 which has attracted more than 125,000 visitors making it one of the busiest pavilions of the event.

On average 5500 people, including many investors, have been visiting the Pakistan pavilion since the event started, which is a great success, it said.

Visitors coming to the pavilion and showing their interest in Pakistan’s culture, its richness and diversity, said Samina Fazil, founder President, IWCCI who concluded her visit to Turkey on Friday to head for Dubai.

She along with other members of the delegation visited many pavilions, exchange information with officials and visitors from many countries and also informed them that Pakistan is a country of great opportunities for tourism, investment and finding matchless traditional crafts.

She said that there are 192 country pavilions, 200 other pavilions, 200 restaurants and 60 daily shows in the expo and it is an excellent opportunity to look for business, channel creativity and boot networking.

The Pakistan Pavilion is divided into eight key spaces where visitors can experience the country’s best-kept hidden treasures ranging from its vibrant handicrafts to its flavoursome food and it stands out among other pavilions for its unique design.

She said that Pakistan should launch a virtual version of its pavilion to offer the public another option to experience what the country has to offer and take part in its trade and business programmes.

This will help virtual visitors to explore the pavilion and expo, join B2B meetings, business matching sessions and webinars, she said.

Other members of IWCCI who are visiting the Dubai expo include Naima Ansari, Roozina Lahooti, Shamim Aftab, Tanzila Riaz, Saiqa Batool, Irum Abbas, Afia Noreen, Riffat Shaheen Sadia Akhtar and Adiya Ansari.
