Islamabad- Federal Secretary for Narcotics Control, Akbar Durrani (TI)/PAS chaired the 3rd meeting of Technical Committee on “Regulatory Framework for Treatment & Rehabilitation of Drug Dependents”. The Secretary was briefed about the ongoing progress about relevant agenda and matters to address the treatment issue in a better way were brought under discussion. The Secretary was of the view that all stakeholders should collectively work with an inclusive approach to achieve the goal of making ideal treatment arrangements for drug dependents.

Akbar Durrani (TI)/PAS emphasized on the need of incorporating international treatment standards and ensuring that these people return to normal lives. He reinforced the fact that UNODC, WHO, UNAIDS, Ministry of NHRSC and Ministry of Narcotics Control should take unanimously work as shield against menace of drugs.
The participants included Dy. Director Programs, Ministry of NHRSC, representatives from UNODC, UNAIDS, PIPS, UNDP, Acting CEO of Islamabad Health Care Regulatory Authority and officials from the Ministry of Narcotics Control.
