ISLAMABAD: The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, in collaboration with the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP), hosted the SEE Global Economic \u2013 Entrepreneurship & Investment Readiness Forum on August 18, 2026, at the U.S. Educational Foundation in Pakistan Auditorium, Islamabad, bringing together around 150 entrepreneurs, ORIC incubation centre directors, startup founders and innovation ecosystem leaders.<\/p>\n

\"\"The forum opened with welcome remarks by Ms. Heidi Smith, Director of Public Engagement\u00a0at the U.S. Embassy, Islamabad. An Entrepreneurship and Trade Spotlight followed, featuring\u00a0presentations on U.S.-Pakistan commercial engagement and resources available to Pakistani\u00a0companies seeking access to the U.S. market.<\/p>\n

Professor Iqrar, Chairman of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), formally\u00a0opened the forum and highlighted the importance of strengthening entrepreneurship and\u00a0innovation within Pakistan\u2019s higher education sector.<\/p>\n

This forum also featured a series of TED-style talks, and Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman, Rector of\u00a0Superior University, addressed the forum on University-Industry Collaboration, emphasising\u00a0the role of entrepreneurship in empowering young people and translating innovative ideas into\u00a0sustainable economic opportunities. Air Vice Marshal Dr. Rizwan Riaz, Pro Rector of the\u00a0National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), shared insights on Research\u00a0Commercialization.<\/p>\n

The forum\u2019s centrepiece was a virtual keynote by American entrepreneur and angel investor\u00a0Scott Fox, who offered practical guidance on entering the U.S. market, developing investor-\u00a0ready ventures, strengthening governance and transparency, and accessing U.S.-aligned capital\u00a0and investor networks.<\/p>\n

Heidi Smith, director of public engagement, U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, highlighted that \u201cthe\u00a0United States remains a global leader in entrepreneurship, venture capital, and emerging\u00a0technologies, from Silicon Valley\u2019s renowned startup ecosystem to America\u2019s record in\u00a0advancing AI, digital innovation, and high\u2011growth business formation. Pakistan\u2019s\u00a0entrepreneurs and researchers have an enormous amount of talent. They need the right\u00a0connections and understanding of how to access international markets. By linking\u00a0Pakistani entrepreneurs with American investors like Scott Fox and U.S. innovation\u00a0ecosystems, these engagements strengthen their global competitiveness and foster\u00a0partnerships that will shape Pakistan\u2019s innovation economy for years to come. We\u2019re\u00a0proud to showcase the U.S. innovation landscape, which exemplifies the strengths of\u00a0American entrepreneurship and reflects the United States\u2019 commitment to inclusive\u00a0economic growth and innovation worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n
