ISLAMABAD, June 25, 2026: Britain\u2019s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Richard Lindsay, has acknowledged international concerns over the Afghan Taliban regime\u2019s support for Fitna Al-Khawarij, the terrorist group targeting Pakistan.<\/p>\n
In an interview with an Afghan TV channel, Lindsay said Fitna Al-Khawarij is a terrorist organization receiving backing from Afghanistan. He noted the group has strong tribal and family networks in the border regions. \u201cOfficials in Kabul and Kandahar need to take decisive action against Fitna Al-Khawarij. Questions about support for them should be asked of the Afghan Taliban,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Lindsay added that training camps for Fitna Al-Khawarij exist in Afghanistan, with weapons in use and financial assistance being provided. He said Afghanistan has become a safe haven for terrorists fleeing Pakistan\u2019s security operations. \u201cThe group\u2019s role in destabilizing the region is prompting military response from Pakistan,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
Defense analysts said the presence and networks of terrorist groups in Afghanistan continue to pose a serious threat to regional security.
