London:In a significant ruling, the UK High Court has declared the ban on the activist group\u00a0Palestine Action\u00a0under terrorism legislation unlawful. However, the court clarified that the ban will remain temporarily in place until the next hearing scheduled for 20 February.<\/p>\n
The three senior judges overseeing the case noted that while some of the group\u2019s activities may have been criminal in nature, they did not meet the high legal threshold required to classify it as a terrorist organisation.<\/p>\n
The UK government expressed strong disappointment over the ruling and announced its intention to appeal. Home Secretary\u00a0Shabana Mahmood\u00a0described the decision as \u201cconcerning\u201d from a national security perspective.Meanwhile, the\u00a0\u00a0Metropolitan Police\u00a0stated that it will continue to gather evidence regarding the group\u2019s activities and its supporters, though immediate arrests are not planned.<\/p>\n
