Mehran  Commercial Enterprises, a tier 1 SME manufacturing unit which specializes in auto interior parts had the honor of achieving a milestone by exporting an order of its products to a client In UK during lock down and COVID. Their head office is located in the Korangi Creek Industrial Park Karachi. The export Order which MCE was able to secure is bound for United Kingdom based on parts for the tractor industry. Most of the parts are interior cabin parts for the tractor made in Pakistan 100%.

Mashood Khan the director for exports & also the former chairman of Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers verified that they were able to secure this product by working from home and also produced the order during the smart lockdown. It was difficult but MCE team was able to achieve the unachievable due to a strong dedicated team.

Exports is something which our economy needs and there are many hidden treasures that we can start with said the director exports. All we need to do is find a product, do its market research to find a customer and we have a chance of creating export business.  You have the entire world to locate your target market, and it is a big world.

Although we are at an initial level when it comes to exporting our products, but we have learned tremendously over the time since we first initiated the decision of entering into exports, on what and how to improve the different processes involved in increasing our production and quality, reduction of costs, how to represent ourselves globally and find customers etc.  The learning curve is immense. Hence, Mashood advised all companies whatever industry they belong to how ever small they may be, to explore the world for more opportunities. Mashood Also verified that the government also started National Export Training Program under TDAP & IBA organization. Good imitative, where we introduce these techniques to entrepreneurs to exploit the vast export market. If the government wants to achieve high turnover of exports its needs build the capacity, international market research, new Export entrepreneur incentives at least 5 years plan then boost these industries. My company have example we did these training from CBI – Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. MCE in the self capacity this Export knowledge to transfer SMEs in auto sector are under process and engaged 3 to 4 SMEs companies.

Mashood Also verified that currently there are immense internal and external issues that hinder SMEs throughout the industries present in Pakistan, but these SMEs would work as the basic catalyst for growth, which this country is destined to do.
